The Toshiba Satellite S1120-T115D is currently one of my favorite laptop models because of its stylish design, great specs and modest price tag. This model comes with 4 GB max RAM (8 GB), a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 320 GBStorage. It is almost a full laptop with features such as Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, HDMI output, HD screen and a keyboard at full size. The battery on this model can be up to six hours on one battery charge. The price should be one of the highlights. Currently priced at only about $ 446 each.

Most laptops these days come preinstalled with one of Windows Vista’s many incarnations. Unfortunately, a lot of laptop buyers have negative issues against Vista, and would like to use a different operating system.
One alternative is the Linux operating system. Since Linux is open source and therefore free, you can save a great amount of money on the operating system alone. Just search for the price difference between a Linux ASUS Eee PC and a Windows XP ASUS Eee PC. Needless to say, the difference amounts to at least a hundred dollars and that is large enough savings, you can otherwise use to buy other peripherals, accessories or software.
